We typically serve our neighbors during the lunch hour in the surrounding blocks around St. Aloysius. Every first and third Saturday is 'backpack ministry,' open to anyone desiring to join us, and it is a great opportunity for someone new to this ministry. Step into this role and watch your compassion make a tangible difference!

Solanus Casey Door Ministry

Grill Club

Do you have a passion for grilling and a heart for community? Our Grill Club is calling your name! Join us in creating mouth-watering meals that bring joy and nourishment to our gatherings. We serve up grilled hot dogs and burgers while passing out essentials to our community. Events are scheduled on a pop-up basis with a parish-sponsored grill at least once a month. Pop-Up Produce Station

Help us distribute fresh fruits and vegetables, spreading health and happiness to families and seniors in our community. We partner with local farmers to fill our box truck with fresh produce each month, parking at strategic locations throughout the city - typically bus stations or parks, and setting up a farmers market-style atmosphere all free for whoever is in need! Senior Support

Are you passionate about supporting our senior community? Help us plan our weekly senior lunch meet-ups, providing a space for fellowship, nourishment, and joy. Our weekly meet-ups have a Christian focus and once a month we share health education, advocacy, and reform. Your efforts will bring warmth and companionship to our beloved seniors in downtown Detroit. Be the light in their golden years!

Back Office Support

Do you enjoy organizing and making things run smoothly? Help us sort and unload donations, organize our storage rooms, drive our box truck, pick up donations, and write thank you cards. Your behind-the-scenes efforts are crucial to our ministry's success. Schedules are flexible, and volunteers can join us anytime! Your organizational skills can ensure that God's work continues to flourish and keep our mission thriving!
